Endgame

By this point, I was about a week away from releasing the project, so I focused the rest of my time on polishing the Vale. I cleaned up any misplaced foliage, refined the textures in the landscape material, and finished up the quests while implementing some finer details that would bring the world together.

After three years of hard work, I took a step back, looked at the project as a whole, and called it complete. Throughout this journey, I learned so much — not just about Unreal Engine, but about optimizing projects, improving my level design techniques, and refining my creative process. I hadn’t realized how much of an impact this one project would have on me, but it truly shaped me as a developer.

Will I ever return to the Cosmic Vale? Right now, no. But in the future? Maybe! I enjoyed every second of working on this project, and I hope you all enjoy exploring it, playing it, and even breaking it! To help foster a sense of community, I’ve created a section on the itch.io page where you can leave feedback, share your comments, and report any bugs you find along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey, and to those who helped me playtest the project. A special thanks to the creators whose kits made The Cosmic Vale possible — I’ve included links to their profiles and works in the description below. And a big thank you to the devs who created the tutorials that guided me throughout the process.

Finally, thank you for taking the time to watch this devlog and follow along as I brought The Cosmic Vale to life. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
